ENGLISH FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

The English is one of the most important languages in the world, because if you dont master the English you dont have any job where ask this language. For this type of problems i offer many topics which improve the language of English.

VERB TO BE

The verb to be or also named "Ser o estar" is the particle that complement the sentence (Am,Is,Are), but you have remember the "PERSONAL PRONOUNS" this personal prononus are the subject for example

I            AM
YOU    ARE
HE       IS
SHE     IS
IT        IS
WE     ARE
YOU   ARE
THEY ARE

The verb to be can contract the personal pronouns:

I M
YOU RE
HE S
SHE S
IT S
WE RE
YOU RE
THEY RE

Now if you know that you can create sentences with the verb to be that is the Present simple with to be

PRESENT SIMPLE WITH TO BE

The present simple with to be is the action when one subject do the action

AFFIRMATIVE

SUBJECT + AM/IS/ARE + COMPLEMENT

Example

Roger is in the playground
I am very cool

NEGATIVE

SUBJECT + AM/IS/ARE + COMPLEMENT

He is not in the playground
I am not very cool

In this sentences you can change the subject for the personal pronoun, now if you want apostrophe the verb to be is very easy but only works when the sentence is negative

Example

He isnt in the playground
They arent sad

INTERROGATIVE

AM/IS/ARE + SUBJECT + COMPLEMENT + ?

Is he in the playground ?
are you very cool?

is very easy always remember the verb to be and the personal pronouns. Now i teach the present simple without to be

PRESENT SIMPLE WITHOUT TO BE

The present simple without to be is very easy but the verb to be doesnt exist here, there are two auxiliar verbs is DO and DOES

I          DO
YOU  DO
HE     DOES
SHE   DOES
IT      DOES
WE    DO
YOU  DO
THE  DO

Here you must learnt the verbs because if you doest learn the verbs you cant any sentence in present simple without to be

AFFIRMATIVE

SUBJECT + VERB + COMPLEMENT

You  take the lunch
She  runs in the downtown

Remember the third person of the singular the verb carry S always,

NEGATIVE

SUBJECT + DO/DOES + VERB + COMPLEMENT

You dont take the lunch
She doesnt run in the downtown

INTERROGATIVE

DO/DOES + SUBJECT + VERB + COMPLEMENT + ?

Do you take the lunch?
Does she run in the downtown

See is very easy but remember learn the verbs and put S in the third person of the singular always the sentence is affirmative

PRESENT PROGGRESSIVE

The present proggressive is other of the time of the present, is the same that include the verb to be and one particule very important that is the "ING" this particule means when one subject is doing some action

AFFIRMATIVE

SUBJECT + VERB TO BE AM/IS/ARE+ VERB ING + COMPLEMENT

The stuntmans are shooting the priest
The foreigneris is paying the bill in the library

NEGATIVE

SUBJECT + AM/IS/ARE + NOT + VERB ING + COMPLEMENT

They arent shooting the priest
He isnt paying the bill in the library

INTERROGATIVE

AM/IS/ARE + SUBJECT + VERB ING + COMPLEMENT + ?

Are they shooting the priest ?
Is he paying the bill in the library ?

This are the present simple with to be, Now i teach the past simple with to be

PAST SIMPLE WITH TO BE

The past simple with to be is when one subject did some action, in this time include the past verb to be is WAS and WERE

AFFIRMATIVE

SUBJECT + WAS/WERE + COMPLEMENT

The worshipper was in the chape
The waiters were in the court

NEGATIVE

SUBJECT + WAS/WERE + COMPLEMENT

He wasnt in the chape
They werent in the court

INTERROGATIVE

WAS/WERE + SUBJECT + COMPLEMENT + ?

Was he in the chape ?
Were they in the court ?

Is the same but the verb to be change to the past

PAST SIMPLE WITHOUT TO BE

Is the same but now change the auxiliar DO to a DID that is the past of  DO, and you must learnt the verbs in past

AFFIRMATIVE

SUBJECT + VERB PAST + COMPLEMENT

The mighty steed licked the cake
The twins fell in the cliff

NEGATIVE

SUBJECT + DID + NOT + VERB + COMPLEMENT

It didnt lick the cake
They didnt fall in the cliff

INTERROGATIVE

DID + SUBJECT + VERB + COMPLEMENT + ?

Did it lick the cake ?
Did they fall in the cliff ?

See is a little hard becasuse you must learn the verbs in past and learn the auxiliar DID and the verb go in present because DID is in past

PAST PROGGRESSIVE

The past proggressive is the same of the present simple only that entries again the ING

AFFIRMATIVE

SUBJECT + WAS/WERE+ VERB ING + COMPLEMENT

The patent clerk was broadcasting the reran
The tight fisted boys were breaking the pool

NEGATIVE

SUBJECT + WAS/WERE + NOT + VERB ING + COMPLEMENT

He wasnt broadcasting the reran
They werent breaking the pool

INTERROGATIVE

WAS/WERE + SUBJECT + VERB ING+ COMPLEMENT + ?

Was he broadcasting the reran ?
Were they breaking the pool ?

See is easy when you learn the verbs in past and the expections in the past simple without to be

PRESENT PERFECT

The present perfect is when one subject have some action, then the verb to be entries is the HAVE and HAS

AFFIRMATIVE

SUBJECT + HAVE/HAS/ + VERB PAST PARTICIPLE + COMPLEMENT

The warlock has bought the cabin
The welders have knitted the hammock

NEGATIVE

SUBJECT + HAVE/HAS + NOT + VERB PAST PARTCIPLE + COMPLEMENT

He hasnt bought the cabin
They havent knitted the hammock

INTERROGATIVE

HAVE/HAS + SUBJECT + VERB PAST PARTICIPLE + COMPLEMENT + ?

Has he bougth the cabin ?
Have they knitted the hammock ?

Here you must learnt the verbs in past participle for apply the present perfect with to be

PRESENT PERFECT CHASE TWO

Here the verb to be change for the verb named BEEN and the verb isnt in past participle now the verb is in ING

AFFIRMATIVE

SUBJECT + HAVE/HAS + BEEN + VERB ING + COMPLEMENT

The babysitter has been buying the milk
The maids have been eating the snacks

NEGATIVE

SUBJECT + HAVE/HAS + NOT + BEEN + VERB ING + COMPLEMENT

She hasnt been buying the milk
They havent been eating the snacks

INTERROGATIVE

HAVE/HAS + SUBJECT + BEEN + VERB ING + COMPLEMENT + ?

Has she been buying the milk ?
Have they been eating the snacks ?

Is very easy only you must change the verb to be with the verb in past participle BEEN

PAST PERFECT

Is the same of the present perfect only change the HAVE and HAS fot the past of two is HAD

AFFIRMATIVE

SUBJECT + HAD + VERB PAST PARTICIPLE + COMPLEMENT

The stubborn buttler had brought the strawberries
The hosts had come the wedding

NEGATIVE

SUBJECT + HAD + NOT + VERB PAST PARTICIPLE + COMPLEMENT

He hadnt brought the strawberries
They hadnt come the wedding

INTERROGATIVE

INTERROGATIVE

HAD + SUBJECT + BEEN + VERB ING + COMPLEMENT + ?

See is the same of the present perfect only must learn the verbs in past participle, learn when use HAD and the verb BEEN

Now here come the most difficult of the English and is the TAG QUESTIONS and VOICE ACITVE AND PASIVE, the TAG QUESTIONS are one series of questios when you answer with all of times of the present past present and past perfect here i teach how are the sentence using the TAG QUESTIONS

1. The goddesses were in the war, Werent they ?

Then the sentence is affirmative now the last words is in negative for the TAG QUESTIONS works
always the questions are in negative or affirmative when the sentence is in negative and you verify the verb tobe if is in present past or present perfect with or without to be

2. The steed hasnt been running fast, Has it?

3. The kings were buying the wand, Werent they?

Now i explain the VOICE ACTIVE and VOICE PASIVE here the sentence change almost all because the sentence suffers some changes for example

AV: The physicist fixes the dice
PV: The dice is fixed by him

He the direct object is first ant the subject is in the final of the sentence remember the sentence is pasive voice always must be the particle BY and the object pronoun

Others examples

AV: The waitress had kept the ladder
PV: The lader had been kept by her

AV: Yout step father is going to freeze the junk food
PV: The junk food is going to be frozen by him

AV: All of us are in the inn
PV: Doesnt have direct object !

Why the sentence doesnt have direct object ??

Ok the answer is simple in this sentence tells todos ustedes estan en la posada Then means which doesnt have direct object because tell of the one lugage and it isnt a direct object

THE DATE OF RICARDO

This is John and Rachel’s first date. John is anxious to impress her so he brings her to an expensive French restaurant. He orders a glass of wine for each of them and exchanges a few words in French with the waiter. The waiter compliments him on his French and returns with the wine and the menu.
“Wow, I am impressed! Where did you learn to speak French?” Rachel asks.
“Well, I took a few classes at the French Language Institute and spent a few weeks in France after that. But it was a few years ago and my French is a little rusty” replies John blushing. “I could order for us in French if you like.”
“That would be cool! I’ve never been to a French restaurant with someone who was fluent in the language. Order a chicken dish for me. I don’t know much about French food but anything in a cream sauce would be great.”
“Alright” says John. “There’s a chicken in mushroom and asparagus cream sauce that I think you will like, and I’ll have the rack of lamb.”
“Sounds perfect!” says Rachel as the waiter approaches the table to take their order.
John speaks to the waiter in French, who smiles and nods politely. About ten minutes later he returns with their order. “Anything else I can get for you?” he asks after placing the plates on the table.
John and Rachel look at their plates and then look at each other.
John looks embarrassed. “I guess my French is more than 'a little rusty'.”
